Are You Crazy???

On April 30 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and on May 1 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Arts Center Theater is holding auditions at the Gualala Arts Center for their production of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. You probably saw the movie and you might have read the book, but the play is something entirely different! Based on Ken Kesey's first novel, and set in a mental asylum, this is a comedy and a drama about the clash between madcap chaos and rigid tyranny.

There are roles for 7-11 men and 4-8 women (The Psychiatrist, the Aides and one of the Patients can be played by either male or female actors.)

The director, David Skibbins, says this about the production, "I encourage anyone from 18 to 80 to think about being in this play. It will be fun and challenging. The patients on the ward may have few lines, but they are on stage for most of the play (after all it is their home). So the actors will really have to learn how to live into their character. We are going to have a blast creating this Oregon Nut House!"

Rehearsals will run from late May through June and July and the last performance will be on the afternoon of July 31. Rehearsals will be in the evenings from 6:00 - 9:30 p.m. For much of the rehearsal schedule, the cast will be able to enjoy their weekends free from rehearsals; with Friday, Saturday and Sunday off! Start freeing up your schedule now! For more information, or a copy of the script to read, contact the director: David Skibbins at coachdvd@aol.com or at 785-9534.
