Walt Rush - Silver and Gold Jewelry and Sculptures
For over 36 years I have been creating and designing jewelry. Since I moved back to the coast I have been concentrating my efforts to making one of a kind jewelry and precious metal sculptures.
I enjoy the outdoors and the beauty of the ocean. So, I create my jewelry with a more fluid and organic look by casting in water, straw also hand fabrication and wax carving to give my jewelry a look like the rolling surf, crashing waves, driftwood and things of nature. I mostly work in gold and silver with precious and semi precious stones.
I presently show at 25 plus art shows a year on the coast and bay area.
For the past three years I have won first place in the category of jewelry and ornamentation at Art in the Redwoods which is held every third weekend in August.
I believe jewelry should be an adornment to the human body,
just as a painting is to a room, or a sculpture is to that special place in a home or yard. My works-of-art in jewelry or treasured precious metal sculptures are designed for today's artistically minded consumers.
Currently, I am a GIA Associate member, (Gemological Institute of America) a member of the Gualala Arts Center, President of the North Coast Artists Guild, and a member of the Mendocino Arts Center. I also Docent at the Dolphin Gallery and offer my services in custom jewelry and repair.
You can find more of my works-of-art jewelry or treasured precious metal sculptures at the Prentice Gallery in Fort Bragg and at the Dolphin Gallery in Gualala. I can also be found at www.rushstudio.com
