Ms. Raybee will bring all you need to make planters, stepping stones, address plaques or wall art for indoors or out....your choice of project. Learn to choose the correct adhesive and sub-surface and tile for a variety of projects. Small class size allows for plenty of personal attention for each student. Contact instructor for special requests. Elizabeth Raybee is an internationally recognized mosaic artist and teacher. Schooled as a painter and printmaker, she has taught Painting, Drawing, Batik, Business for Visual Artists and Mosaics at the Ft. Mason Art Center, San Francisco City College, Mendocino College and through her own studio. Mosaic has been her primary medium since 1988.
Ms. Raybee's work has been widely exhibited, including the San Francisco Crafts Museum, the National Jewish Museum (D.C.), Yerba Buena Gardens (SF, CA), Museo Italiano (SF) and the Grace Hudson Museum (Ukiah, CA). Her commissions include the San Francisco Arts Commission, Laguna Honda Hospital, Eden Housing Inc., the San Geronimo Valley Cultural Center, Willits Skate Park, the City of Ukiah and dozens of private homes. Her work has appeared in virtually every Bay Area newspaper, on the cover of ARTWEEK, in a few TV spots and was published in three books of contemporary mosaics: Making Mosaics (Lark Press, 1995), Design Sourcebook: Mosaics (New Holland Press, 1998) and A Guide to Mosaic Sites, San Francisco (Lillian Sizemore, 2004).
