Gualala Arts Woodcarving Group
The Woodcarving group is a small but enthusiastic group of people who are exploring all styles of carving wood. After reviewing a specific technique, members work on a small project that employs that technique. Carving in the round, relief carving and chip carving are being explored. After members have gained sufficient skills they can pursue specific projects of interest. Although most of the work will be done with knives and gouges, power carving will be considered.
New members and experienced woodcarvers are invited to participate and share their skills.
This is a great opportunity for beginners to learn how to carve wood. We will provide tools, wood and instruction that will allow you to explore this craft. Resource materials include books, magazines, websites and DVDs.
