Gualala Arts: Poetry and Short Prose
Come join the Poetry and Short Prose
group. We promote interest and participation in the literary
arts by having monthly meetings where we recite, review and critique members'
creative efforts in poetry, short prose and haiku (a traditional Japanese
poetic form).
We provide educational opportunities by sponsoring
(cooperatively with Foundations, grants and organizations) lectures,
workshops and community shows to better acquaint people with the rich
treasures of our literary heritage and the wide range of our local talent.
We promote biennial participation by local artists in
a 'Broad-sheet' volunteer show with gallery exposure and 'open-mike'
recitation of their professional or amateur literary contributions.
We provide an economic and visual opportunity for
local artists to display their talent to the whole community.
Second Sunday time
for haiku, short prose or rhyme
come--for words sublime.
