Gualala Arts invites you to the Wine Tasting & Auction in conjunction with the Soroptimist International of Mendocino-Sonoma Coast 30th Annual Architectural Tour to be held on Friday and Saturday of Mother's Day weekend, May 9 & 10, 2014.

The Wine Tasting & Auction will be hosted at the Gualala Arts Center, which is an architectural gem nestled in the redwoods with a dramatic auditorium and foyer where the tasting and silent auction is held.

This is the premier wine event on the Sonoma / Mendocino coast, featuring 25 award winning wineries pouring a wide selection of their premium wines. Over 40 wine-related auction lots will be available for your silent bidding both days of the event, with the winning bids being announced at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10 (need not be present to win).

Lobster New this year is a Friday night Hands On Lobster Dinner, a professionally prepared traditional New England Lobster feast spread out on tables in the Gualala Arts Center's beautiful and spacious Coleman Auditorium.

The Saturday Wine Tasting & Auction is the finale to the 30th Annual Architectural Tour that features iconic designs of The Sea Ranch, Gualala, and Southern Mendocino Coast, with an extraordinary and diverse offering of homes that trace the evolution of the North Coast Style from the creations of the original architects to the current modern 'green' representations of "living lightly on the land."

Hands On Lobster Dinner

The weekend will kick off Friday night with the inaugural Hands On Lobster Dinner with a reception in the Elaine Jacob Foyer where guests will receive a glass of Flowers wine to start the evening.

At 6:30 be prepared to get your hands messy with a New England-style lobster boil with roasted potatoes and artichokes, corn on the cob, sausages, one whole lobster per person, and more. Two glasses of Korbel California Champagne will complement your meal, and dessert will follow if you still have room.

You will be able to browse -- at leisure and without the crowds -- the wide selection of wine, gift certificates and other wine related items available in the silent auction. Many local businesses have donated premium auction lots such as luxurious lodging packages, golf, kayak tours and other great items.

Make what you hope will be winning bids on your favorites, knowing that the proceeds will help encourage public interest and participation in the arts. You will also be able to preview our showcase raffle prizes, which so far this year include a weekend stay and cooking class at The Apple Farm in the Anderson Valley.

Only 100 reservations at $125 each are available for this sumptuous feast, so be sure to reserve your seat early! To reserve in person, visit the Gualala Arts Center.
