Beads n' Beyond
Beads n' Beyond is sponsoring Love, Harmony, Inc.
for a bead trunk show on June 9 from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.
They will be selling American Gem turquoise, coral,
pearls, and shell beads, fine cut crystal and mineral beads,
fine cut gemstones in faceted and free form cabochons.
From earliest times beads have been used to decorate people, clothing and objects. A wide range of techniques has evolved and today beading is enjoying a worldwide renaissance. Beads have been or are being made from shells, stones, animal teeth, seeds, pearls, gems, glass, plastics, (an incomplete list), in numerous sizes and finishes. From stringing various sized beads into necklaces, bracelets and earrings, embroidering leather and cloth with them, to weaving them into solid fabrics and coverings, beads will fascinate those who work with them.
The purpose of the Gualala Arts "Beads n' Beyond" Interest Group is to provide a place for people interested in beading to explore the many facets of the subject. Some gatherings will explore a specific technique and others will simply provide time for all to work on their own projects, share their experiences, ask questions, trade beads, "show and tell." We hope also at some point to bring in outside instructors. The group meets the third Saturday of the month from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Gualala Arts Center unless otherwise notified. Sometimes a charge will be made for provided materials.
If you are a member of Gualala Arts you can see information about the next meeting in
Sketches, the monthly newsletter.
The Gualala Arts Center, located at 46501 Gualala Road in Gualala, CA,
