Artist Statement:
China is in the midst of rapid and dramatic social transformation. Xie Tianzi As the Chinese people take their place on the contemporary world stage, they bring with them both an appreciation of their heritage and a new perspective on today's world. My art exists on the cusp of change. To carry forward traditional Chinese culture while immersed in modern life, to always see with new eyes, to record the unfolding moment through my inner vision -- it is to this that I aspire.

Xie Tianzi had a workshop at Gualala Arts in 2006 that was exceptional. People are looking forward to seeing an exhibit of his work at the Dolphin. He also will have two of his pieces (Chinese ink on paper/silk scroll) in the Gualala Arts IS (Instructors Show) January 13 through February 4, 2007 in the Burnett Gallery at Gualala Arts Center.
