It was just over ten years ago that our coastal community came together to build a world-class Arts Center. In this past decade, the Gualala Arts Center has blossomed, now producing well over one hundred
Gualala Arts sponsored events per year.
Gualala Arts continues its rich tradition of community participation and support. Our Dolphin Gallery & Gift Shop, staffed 363 days a year by volunteers, provides a venue where local artists sell their work, while the Arts Center hosts community events and fundraisers for just about every organization and service group on the coast. In 2008 the Gualala Arts Center staff scheduled and coordinated over 2,000 calendared events!
Looking to the future, the existing Arts Center facilities are in need of maintenance. In addition, we plan to enhance these facilities by maximizing every square inch of the current building and continuing with our landscaping and grounds improvement projects.
Now comes the important part. We need your financial help to continue! Gualala Arts is well run and fiscally prudent. The building is mortgage free, the business operations are carefully managed, and volunteers donate hundreds of thousands of dollars in time, experience and work.
However, like most non-profit art organizations, we usually end the year with a deficit. Rather than deferring needed maintenance and improvement programs, or curtailing regular programming, we are asking for your help.
We count on YOU to help us carry on our mission to
"Promote public interest and participation in the arts!"
Please help Gualala Arts stay alive and thrive though your contributions!
In gratitude,
David "Sus" Susalla, Executive Director
